Other recruitment methods In order to make sure we cover as much of the potential volunteer universe as possible Biotrax also utilises its access to Models, Actors, Focus Groups, Mystery Shoppers Via Search Strings on the Internet and services provided to research volunteers Volunteer welfare Volunteer welfare is of paramount importance to Biotrax. All adverts are scrutinised for compliance with regulatory guidelines. When volunteers register with Biotrax they gain access to the majority of research activities in existence, propagating the most popular web sites on the internet. Volunteers can also decide between a range of other activities such as Mystery shopping, Film, TV Extra Work & Focus Groups, presenting to volunteers opportunities that just about anyone can participate in, in their spare time, weekends or in between research activities. Volunteers registered with Biotrax feel part of a community where they are assured of personal attention, where they are only informed of trials personally relevant to them and where support is given in answering any questions they have with regards volunteering for clinical trials, non invasive research, other medical research activities such as psychology tests where often only a teaspoon of blood may be taken. BioTrax Aims: Although we understand that the financial rewards may be the major reason volunteers participate , we believe and very strongly that the integrity of medical research or the return of integral values to the UK Industry lies with the help attitudes and expressing the true values and purpose of a clinical trials industry. Through expressing these moral and ethical values and re-educating volunteers we can bring to life a new breed of volunteer. Our health zone news letters at the top of each study listing are designed to do exactly this. For example could you read this health zone news letter and not feel some empathy or compassion for people who do not have any real effective mediations and are caught in a situation where it is unlikely that pharma companies would invest billions into the investigation off new treatments as there are in fact only approx 30, 000 sufferers world wide. http://www.biotrax.com/motorneuron.php . We believe it is up to medical research collectively to return these wholesome attitudes & to work towards a brighter & more respected future for the UK Medical Trials Industry. Technical Search optimisation etc. Our optimisation has become very heavily scrutinised by ourselves to insure maximum potential with links to relevant web sites with appropriate and credible information. We take the security of information held very seriously and employ a cryptographic secure socket layer on our server. Our servers have a minimum 98% uptime, so you know that your recruitment portal is working hard and you are getting value for money. |

Clinic Testimonials
One London clinic has said our response rates are 17 times higher than our competitor. Here are some testimonials
Retroscreen Virology Ltd
Retroscreen Virology Ltd conduct several clinical trials yearly on healthy volunteers. Biotrax have supplied most of our volunteers over the last 5 years and because they are screened by Biotrax as the volunteer has to complete a questionnaire and this is forwarded to Retroscreen, it has helped us to contact only the volunteers that are suitable for our studies which cut’s recruitment time and costs. We find Biotrax very helpful and will adjust their questionnaire to accommodate for our different studies. Retroscreen have built a good relationship with Biotrax and will continue to work with them in the future and would recommend Biotrax to supply good volunteers for clinical trial’s.

The Medicines Evaluation Unit (MEU)
The Medicines Evaluation Unit (MEU) at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester recruits volunteers with asthma and other lung disease into clinical trials.
The MEU have worked with Biotrax for the past 7years and have developed an extremely successful business collaboration, The MEU previously relied solely on media and advertising sources to recruit for the clinical trials which are extremely costly methods.
Biotrax have supplied the MEU on regular basis over the years with large numbers of potential asthma trial volunteers.
What is particularly beneficial to MEU is that Biotrax pre screen the volunteers by means of them completing a detailed questionnaire which is then forwarded to the MEU. We are then able to prioritise which volunteers are most suitable for our current clinical trial needs rather than having to telephone screen large numbers of volunteers in order to identify the most suitable ones.
On a per volunteer basis this proves to be a very cost effective way of increasing our database of trial volunteers i.e. on a per volunteer basis onto our database it costs far less than radio and other media advertising,
Biotrax are very receptive to any requests that MEU make to target specific groups and they have on many occasions focused their recruitment methods to assist with this; for example by making amendments to their website with banner adverts etc. They have also assisted us in the past with road shows such as a Student Union recruitment drive.
The volunteers that apply via Biotrax have actively searched on the internet to take part in trials and are therefore receptive to be contacted about forthcoming trials.
We wouldn’t have any hesitation to recommend Biotrax to assist with clinical trial recruitment requirements for your trials.

Clinical Trials Laboratory Services
Clinical Trials Laboratory Services requires volunteers to provide Drug Free Plasma for bio analysis and diagnostic purposes and to participate in Phase I clinical research studies. We have used Biotrax predominantly to find volunteers. We have found them to be very helpful and responsive. Their professionalism is such that we have found high response rates from interested volunteers through their web site. Their methodology has ensured that those volunteers who have responded had a high correlation with our inclusion criteria. I would have no hesitation in recommending Biotrax to help in volunteer recruitment.

The CRC will be pleased to use BioTrax in the future for clinical research studies.
